About the Book
LEROY WATCHES JR. IS A GOOD MAN TOO BAD HE’S THE FBI’S MOST WANTED FUGITIVE
“Sandy Nathan’s “Leroy Watches Jr. & the Badass Bull” is one part cowboy narrative, one part shaman’s journey, and two parts hilarious.”
– Jeff B.
When his father, a famous rodeo bullfighter, needs his help at his farewell rodeo, Leroy says yes. When his grandfather, perhaps the most famous Native American shaman ever, wants him to visit one last time, Leroy agrees.
Everything goes wrong and Leroy ends up in a zany mix-up, pursued by the FBI, ATF (Antiterrorist Force), state police, and the Cattleman’s Association. To get to his grandpa in time, Leroy will have to cross three states and a couple of deserts pursued by an bizarre posse.
This farce is made crazier by who Leroy is. He’s not a mild cattle rancher and rodeo champion. His grandpa isn’t a sweet old Indian. Most of the world knows Leroy’s grandpa as Grandfather, a holy man possessed of unbelievable spiritual power. Leroy has power of his own, though he’s a bit sketchy about controlling it.
LAS VEGAS ROCKS WHEN LEROY HITS TOWN
Leroy Watches Jr. is a shaman with a flaw. Sometimes his Power makes things worse. When he agrees to help his dad at his last rodeo, he has no idea he’ll end up the FBI’s Most Wanted Fugitive. But he does. Read this award-winning, contemporary Western and laugh out loud.
